To get the most benefit from class time, you may wish to do some of the cutting before class.

Cutting The Star Points
Cut the fabrics for the star points into 6" squares. Leave them in stacks for further cutting.

Cutting The Background Fabric
These layouts are based on 43" of usable fabric. Remove the left selvage and cut out the star blocks, sashing, cornerblocks, and borders as shown. A 12 1/2" rotary cutting square is very helpful for this. To prepare the 12 1/2" blocks for appliqué, press each block lightly in half in each direction to mark the centers.
